Sugar Uncoated Uni-verse

Welcome to Words Eclectic (WE) Publishing! Explore our vibrant Sugar Uncoated uni-verse, where poetry and art converge and embrace an unapologetic self-determination. WE Publishing was founded by the poet, independent art curator, and book reviewer Dr. Diedra Price. Our self-determined platform is anchored in poetry that centers the richness and depth of Black heritage. We publish poetry that explores a range of themes that include memory and movement, equity and justice, liberation and resistance, racism and white supremacy, privilege and whiteness, love and romance, beauty and individuality, and family and community, which connects deeply with both historical and contemporary issues. With a focus on amplifying the voice of self-determined under-resourced communities, poets, and artists, WE Publishing is a space committed to creativity and social consciousness in the uni-verse of both poetry and art. Immerse yourself in this sugar uncoated uni-verse where poetry and art merge as a form of advocacy.

POET TALK | ART CURATOR | BOOK REVIEWER

Poet Talk events dive into meaningful discussions on complex themes like equity and justice through the lens of poetry. Led by Dr. Price, these gatherings encourage analytical thinking and a deeper exploration of important social issues. Participants will experience poetry as a powerful catalyst for dialogue and reflection, and be part of an uni-verse that values thoughtful conversation. Poet Talk events are a unique opportunity to engage, connect, and come together through the transformative power of words.

At WE Publishing, we are passionate about establishing strategic partnerships with poets, artists, and self-determined under-resourced communities. Our mission, through the We The Poetry & Arts initiative is to raise funds to curate poetry and art exhibitions that enhance the quality of life and promote the arts within these communities. WE Publishing  makes a space for poets and artists to share their authentic experiences, reflecting their lived experience and unique perspectives. Our company is a rich tapestry of creativity and self-determination that drives meaningful and systemic change.

Dr. Price delivers engaging and impactful book reviews, diving deep into the principle arguments and sources of non-fiction works! She encourages decision makers to formulate questions that lead to discovering literature that enriches their understanding of the layered and complex history of Black liberation and resistance. Her reviews are a resource, guiding readers through thought-provoking and critically important themes and subjects!

Our inaugural poem, "Sugar Uncoated, A to Z" exemplifies WE Publishing's core values. Dr. Price takes readers and listeners on a compelling journey through the theme of Black liberation and resistance. She amplifies voices that demand to be heard while tethering Black liberation and resistance to a global humanity. Dr. Price recognizes the power of words and understands the art of storytelling and inspires readers and listeners to engage in the sugar uncoated exploration of language.

The "sugar uncoated" principle is rooted in speaking truth to untruth and a deep and abiding respect for African heritage. WE Publishing unapologetically disrupts false narratives and myths that dehumanize and demonize this magnificent and extraordinary heritage through the power of poetry, prose, and the arts.
